Privacy Policy
What this website collects, why, who it goes to, and how to reach us about it.
Draft — this page is pending review by counsel and is not legal advice.
Tribute Capital Partners, LLC (“Tribute,” “we,” “us”) is a Texas limited liability company. This policy explains how we handle information collected through the Tribute Capital Partners website at tributecap.com. It applies to that website only.
What this policy does not cover
Tribute services, values, and buys consumer receivables for financial institutions. The borrower and account information we handle in that work does not come from this website. It comes from our clients and from the courts, and it is governed by our contract with the institution and by the laws that apply to it, including the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. Nothing in this policy changes those obligations, and nothing in those agreements is described here.
This site is built for institutions: credit unions, banks, dealers, advisors, and counsel. It is not a place to manage a personal loan account, and we do not ask for account numbers, Social Security numbers, or financial account details anywhere on it. Please do not send them to us through this site.
Information you give us
This site has three forms, and each one collects only what it shows on screen:
- Contact. Your name, email address, institution, and your message.
- Portfolio review. Your name, email address, phone number, institution, and seller type, plus the portfolio facts you choose to give us: asset type, account count, balance band, sale type, timeline, and notes.
- Email lists. Your email address, and which list you asked for.
You can also reach us by email or telephone. We keep that correspondence the same way we keep a form submission.
Information collected automatically
Our host records standard server log information for every request: the IP address, the browser and operating system, the page requested, the time, and the referring page. Logs protect the site and help us diagnose faults. When you submit a form, the IP address, browser string, and referring page are recorded with the submission, and they are used to score it for spam.
Some of that travels onward with your submission. When you subscribe to an email list, we pass
your IP address and the page you came from to Buttondown, which uses the IP address to score
the signup for abuse. If the page you came from carries campaign tags in its address — the
utm_source, utm_medium, and utm_campaign parameters a
link can carry — those are passed as well, so we can tell which article or campaign brought you
in. When you send a business inquiry, the page you came from is recorded with it in our
customer relationship system, along with a plain-text copy of your answers.
These tags describe where a visit came from. They do not follow you to other websites, and we do not use them to build a profile of you.
Analytics
We plan to measure traffic with Plausible Analytics, which is designed to count visits without identifying visitors. Plausible sets no cookies, creates no persistent identifier, and does not follow you to other websites. It reports page counts, referring sites, countries, and device types in aggregate. It does not tell us who you are.
Cookies
This site sets no advertising cookies and no tracking cookies, so you will not see a cookie banner. We run no advertising pixels and no cross-site retargeting tags. If that ever changes, we will change this page first and ask for consent where the law requires it.
How we use information
- To answer your inquiry and to price, scope, or discuss an engagement.
- To send the email list you asked for, and nothing else you did not ask for.
- To keep a record of the request in our customer relationship system.
- To operate, secure, and improve the site, and to block spam and abuse.
- To meet our legal, audit, and record-keeping obligations.
We do not use the information from this site to make an automated decision about any person, and we do not use it to build an advertising profile.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We give information to four kinds of recipient:
- Service providers. Netlify hosts the site and receives every form submission, and it filters submissions for spam through Akismet. Quickbase holds our record of business inquiries. Buttondown sends the email lists. Plausible, when installed, measures traffic. Each one acts on our instructions and may use the information only to provide the service.
- Professional advisors. Our counsel, accountants, and auditors, under a duty of confidence.
- Law and safety. Where a subpoena, court order, regulator, or law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of Tribute or others.
- A change of ownership. If Tribute is sold, merged, or reorganized, business records may transfer with the business, under the same commitments.
Email list
The Paper Trail is opt-in. When you subscribe, Buttondown sends a confirmation email, and you go on the list only after you confirm. Every issue carries an unsubscribe link, and it works at once. If you have already unsubscribed, this site's form will not put you back on the list. Use the link in an earlier issue, or write to us.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiries for as long as we are in contact with you about the request, and afterwards for as long as our record-keeping and legal obligations require. We keep a subscriber's email address until they unsubscribe, and we keep a record of the unsubscribe so we do not mail them again. Spam submissions and server logs are kept for a short period and then discarded.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Access to form submissions and to the customer relationship system is limited to the people at Tribute who need it. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so please do not send us sensitive personal or account information through this site.
Your choices
Tribute is a small business. The Texas Data Privacy and Security Act exempts a business of our size from most of its requirements, and the California Consumer Privacy Act applies to businesses above revenue and volume thresholds we do not meet. We do not rely on that to avoid answering you. Write to us at info@tributecap.com and we will:
- tell you what information from this site we hold about you;
- correct it if it is wrong;
- delete it, unless a law or a live matter requires us to keep it; and
- stop sending you email.
We answer within 45 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, so we do not disclose one person's information to another. We will not treat you differently for making a request.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We do not track visitors across other websites, so there is nothing for a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal to switch off. We honour those signals by not doing the thing in the first place.
Children
This site is for business use and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us information, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We will post any change on this page and move the date at the foot of it. A change that materially affects information we already hold will be announced before it takes effect.
